New blog for the archives book group and schedule for first reading

If you’re interested in motivating yourself to do a bit more reading in 2013 I hope you’ll consider joining in at the new archives book group blog, Archivists Reading Together. There are a lot of great suggestions for readings shared on a post a few weeks ago, but you’ll have to go over to the new blog to see what I selected. I plan to start in about a month, so hopefully that will give everyone time to get access to a copy of the book and read it. I’ll post reminders here from time to time but otherwise, please follow the new blog for updates.

And, as the first post states, although this group is aimed primarily at archivists, all are welcome to participate. Happy reading!

Reading Archives Power alumnus here. Glad to be back in for another one. Just the other day I was looking for something and happened to re-read your Archival Outlook article on the first group read – what worked and what didn’t. Looking forward to it. Will the author participate this time? I know that having Rand in on the last one was a plus.

Huh, I’d forgotten all about writing that. I must go back and check it out myself! In this case I don’t know the author so I doubt will have her participate. If we’re not trashing the book too much in the discussion, I may attempt to contact her and at least make her aware of the site. She can decide if she wants to comment or not. Sound ok?

Kate, it looks like my ACA exam reading load is going to be a bit more than I thought. I’ll do my best to try to balance both!
